Green Africa

About

We're building the boring layer.

Not a movement. Not an app. The plumbing that lets everything above it be trusted.

01 — Why we exist

Unprovable work doesn't attract capital.

Plastic recovery in Nigeria doesn't fail for lack of effort. It fails because the effort can't be proved, and unprovable work doesn't attract capital.

Brands can't fund what they can't report. Credit markets can't price what they can't verify. Funders can't scale what they can't audit. Meanwhile the collector at the bottom of the chain — who is doing the actual environmental work — captures the smallest share of value, because they hold the material and not the evidence.

We decided the evidence was the thing worth building.

02 — What we chose not to build

Deliberately narrow. Deliberately asset-light.

We're not trying to become Nigeria's largest aggregator. We're not building pelletising capacity. We're not importing machines.

Each of those is a capital-heavy business with someone already better at it than us. Our position is deliberately narrow and deliberately asset-light: verify at the point of recovery, prove it, and let the value of proof flow to the people who earned it.

03 — Recognition

First place overall, 2025 Hedera Africa Hackathon.

Green Africa won first place overall and the cross-track championship at the 2025 Hedera Africa Hackathon, competing against more than 1,300 submissions from over 13,000 developers. That prize is funding the deployment now in progress.

It's a good validation and a real cheque; it isn't a business. The machines going into the ground are the business.

04 — How we're structured

Two entities, kept deliberately separate.

Green Africa (Incorporated Trustees)

A registered Nigerian non-profit carrying the community, education, awareness and collection-mobilisation work, and the grant funding attached to it.

Amp10 Limited

The commercial entity holding trade, export and investment activity.

The separation is intentional. Grant money and trading revenue shouldn't share a bank account, and funders are right to ask which one they're funding.

05 — Where we are

The problem is local, and so is the answer.

Founded and operating in Nigeria, with offices in Ibadan and operations across Lagos and Oyo States. Hardware is fabricated locally. The team is local. The problem is local, and so is the answer.
